May & bees

May & Bees was painted in the forest during the height of May. Surrounded by heat and shifting light, I worked without a plan — guided by colour and the slow rhythm of the day. A thought of apples came and went. Bees wandered across the frame. They weren’t symbols — just part of the moment. This is a trace of stillness, of breath, of warmth settling into paint.
